Earlham Hand Painted Wall Panels Set of Two

A pair of de Gournay panels hand-painted on custom-dyed silk from the Earlham collection, framed in burnished gold. On a pale, luminous champagne ground, slender blossoming branches climb the full height of each panel, studded with peonies in powder blue, blush pink and cream. Pheasants with long trailing tails and small songbirds perch among the boughs, and a butterfly drifts through, all above a quiet, ink-washed riverbank. Each detail is painted by hand in the chinoiserie tradition, so the soft colour and fine brushwork catch the light in a way a print never could. Hung side by side, the panels read as one continuous garden. Place them above a console, sofa or bed, or in an entry or dining room, for the elegance of a hand-painted room in a statement piece. Sold as a set.
