What's In Store

Our dream came true when we opened our first 'store', a pop-up shop in The Upper House, a local hub of global culture, art, and design. Over six weeks in May to June we were in residence at our favorite hotel where we had the chance to meet many clients, designers, and colleagues to walk them through our collections in person. While we are passionate about e-commerce, we also believe the IRL experience cannot be beat! Stay tuned as we plot our next location for the holiday season and read on to see what went down at the PR shop.

The Upper House is a destination for all things cool, not just for the visiting tourists and business travelers, but for the Hong Kongers who flock to the hotel equally for wellness (think Family Form workout classes and monthly sound baths) and revelry (including drag shows, product launches, and DJ sets). For this special venue, we wanted to bring our collections to a new audience in an aesthetic that could live seamlessly with the hotel's existing architecture. How do you think we did?

We gathered 60 of our nearest and dearest to launch the shop with a lively discussion led by consultant Claire Breen Melwani. Over a petit déjeuner of chia bowls, mini pancakes, delicate frittatas and most importantly for the morning shift - copious cappuccinos and matchas lattes, we chatted about the joys of design and retail. Our like-minded crowd was treated to our signature Aurora napkins and fabuous fruit and flower centerpieces from our favorite tablescaper Jodi Munro of Mrs Chortles.

The Caviar Bagel

We even managed to take over the adjoining tea room, which we dubbed it the Permanent Resident Cafe. But what's a takeover without a signature dish? Inspired by The Mark Hotel and Caviar Kaspia's NYC caviar bagel collab, we created our our riff on this to-go dish. Featuring a lightly toasted sesame bagel topped with 15g of Nomad Caviar, lemon-zested cream cheese, and a sprinkle of fresh chives, our version was the weekend brunch indulgence we didn't know we had been looking for.
