Seller FAQs

How Do I Submit an Item?

Our circular furniture business is for Hong Kong-based sellers only. However, you may shop the website from anywhere. Begin by reviewing our How It Works page and please review our guide to What We Accept. After confirming that your item is applicable, submit the Sell With Us form. Our team will review your submission and accept or decline your piece within 1-3 business days. We choose the items based on aesthetics, condition, design, and function, as well as our current storage availability.

What is the difference between Preowned and Upcycled?

Accepted items will be cateogrized as either Preowned or Upcycled. Preowned means items are sold as is, while Upcycled means we will be refurbishing the item. Our Upcycled collection specilaizes in reinvigorating second-hand upholstered sofas, chairs and stools with unexpected fabrics and trimmings. The complementary textiles we use are salvaged, from dead stock, new or a combination thereof. You can view our current stock of Preowned and Upcycled items.

What happens when my item is picked up?

We will coordinate a convenient date to pick up your furniture free of charge. Items may be rejected at the time of pick up if we find they do not accurately fit your submission details. We require a credit card on file to account for costs incurred in the event of misrepresented furniture and no show pick up appointments. Please review our Seller Terms to understand what is expected for a successful pickup to occur.

Who owns my item now?

After your item is picked up, ownership is transferred to Permanent Resident. By having an item picked up, you agree to our Seller Terms. Your item will not be returned for any reason. Please carefully consider submitting your item.

What happens after my item is picked up?

If your item is bound for our Upcycled collection, it goes on to our upholstery workshop to be measured and matched with replacement fabric. It is then transported on to our warehouse to be photographed, uploaded to our site and stored until it meets its perfect match. We strive to have Upcycled items live online within 8-10 weeks of pickup. If your item is destined for our Preowned collection, it comes directly to our warehouse to be cleaned, photographed, uploaded to our site and stored until it meets its perfect match. We strive to have Preowned items live online within 2-4 weeks of pickup.

What is the Rental Program?

We work with various interior designers, real estate agents and film production firms for photo/video shoot staging and styling. While your item is in our warehouse awaiting its final sale, it may be available to rent to these third parties.

How much will I make?

Sellers will receive a specific commission rate (see tables below) on any sold item. Commission will be applied to the final selling and/or rental price of the item. We set the listing price based on each piece's brand, condition, and rework investment.  If your item belongs to the Preowned collection, the commission you earn will apply to the final sale price. If your item belongs to the Upcycled or Rental program, the commission you earn will apply to the profit made on the sale of the item. Please note, if your item is Upcycled, the amount of work and investment Permanent Resident puts into the piece will reflect in an increased value to the item - and a higher selling price. We reserve the right to markdown items as necessary. Once a product's selling price is reduced, the original price cannot be reinstated. We reserve the right to remove the item from the site if it has not sold within one year of listing. You can find further information in our Seller Terms.

How is my item's listing price decided?

Listing prices are based on the original value of the item and the amount of work required to update the item for resale. We will not be able to give you a selling price for your item until all relevant work has been completed. We can, however, assure you that your item will not be going to a landfill and that we will do our utmost to place it in a new home.

How will I get paid?

Your item will be considered final sale after it is purchased and its associated return period has ended. You will be notified by email of your item's final sale and we will present the final selling price and your associated commission. You can choose to receive a direct payment within one week by providing your Hong Kong-based bank details, or you can choose an instant site credit. Any sellers banking outside Hong Kong will be charged approximately HK$250 to cover our associated transfer fees. We do not reimburse any additional charges you may incur from your bank. If you choose to receive a store credit you will receive digital payment from us to use on our site.
