• Before lighting candles, trim the wick to no more than 1.5 cm
• Never leave candles unattended
• If smoke is present, extinguish the candle and shorten the wick
• Remove all remaining cut wick residue
• Burn candles on a heat-resistant surface and in a suitable base or candle holder
• Burn candles away from flammable materials
• Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time
• Always store candles away from direct sunlight
• Do not move the candle when it is burning or when the wax is still liquid
• Extinguish candles by smothering the flame with a suitable candle snuffer or by bending the wick, dipping the flame into the melted wax, and then returning the wick to its vertical position
